Florida Department of Health: ATU Inspections
The Florida Department of Health in Franklin County’s (DOH-Franklin) Environmental Health Program will be on St. George Island conducting Aerobic Treatment Unit (ATU) inspections. They will be wearing DOH-Franklin badges, shirts, and hats. You may notice them on or around your property, checking the septic systems, their alarms, and drain fields. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Environmental Health Program office at 850-323-6018.
DOH intends to conduct the inspections between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following dates:
- Thursday, August 31st
- Thursday, September 7th
- Wednesday, September 20th
- Thursday, September 21st
- Wednesday, September 27th
- Wednesday, October 11th
- Thursday, October 12th
2023 ANNUAL MEETING
Owners, mark your calendars for the 2023 Owners’ Annual Meeting Friday, October 13th at 1:00 pm. Meet and greet will begin at 11:00 am.
Hurricane Season
Get prepared for the Hurricane Season! To gain entry onto St. George Island after a disaster, you will need ta Re-Entry Tag from Franklin County Emergency Management. Click here to obtain your tag today! Please note that Re-Entry tags no longer expire, so if you already have one and your address has not changed, cross out the expiration date and put NA in that space. Turtle Season now until Oct. 31: Remove all tents, chairs, trash from beach daily, Lights Out!
All Gulf front and 1st tier homes must comply with appropriate turtle friendly lights. Please pack in and pack out before leaving the beach, and fill in all holes.
